Sundays are for rest?

Well, "ain't no rest for the wicked" as the song says. I spent all weekend working at the house and we are thisclose to moving in! We started unpacking the bedrooms and living room in hopes that we will be sleeping there next weekend. Now, I still have a faux finish to do in the living room but here is a 'during' photo.... We decided to hang the television which necessitated the hanging of the curtains.....
I need to find a rug ..... ...that ties the room together** :)

Here's the beginning of my bedroom. This is my favorite room in the house. The yellow (Sherwin Williams Afterglow...hee hee, cause I'm 12) looks really good with the cherry furniture (hee hee, you get it). Once my quilt is on and everything it will be one cheery room!

We had visitation with Senor-Nacho-Damn-Christy-Macho this weekend, he was happy to supervise.
Unfortunately there were injuries this weekend.... I got a big huge chunk of wood in my delicate babysoft (ha!) hand!
Isn't this gripping blogging!? Thanks to the handy (haha get it HANDy) dandy first aid kit I bought for the trip to MD I had a splinter remover kit on HAND (okay, enough, sorry) and removed it and now we're good as new.
Mia looks on in annoyance.

Wordy Wednesday- The Late Edition.

In New York,
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of,
There's nothing you can’t do,
Now you’re in New York,
These streets will make you feel brand new,
The lights will inspire you,
Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York!!!!

Wordy Wednesday!

I just liked this....you print out a letter in a nice font and cut the letter out leaving the outline in one piece. Using that as a template lay and glue buttons (mine will be black) to a piece of fabric (ultrasuede would be grand) and pull away the paper. Voila, instant monogram art.
This is from Martha Stewart dot com..... I wanted something interesting as a shower curtain and loved this look. I ended up buying beach towels from Wal****.com in brown, aqua and lime......
to go into the 'inner bathroom', seen here. The 'outer bathroom' is going to have a huge vanity and built in shelving... This isn't a great shot of the color but the rooms are sort of tight and not really allowing for great photography... .maybe I'll do a walking video tour! :) I really am proud of the transformation we've done. Much, much thanks to all of my family members who have helped!
The dining room is almost done, just some touch ups and one more window to go!
This is the living room 'door to nowhere'.... It was actually a functioning door that leads to the small back porch, but it's not used and it's stupid. So, I'm going with camouflage! I taped off the bottom of the door to reflect the baseboard and painted the door 'out' with the wall color. It's wet in this shot because it's fresh paint but it will dry flat like the wall. We're mounting the flatscreen tv to the door and I'm going to add another layer of camouflage....

...like this!! (not my house obviously, but definitely inspiration!)
And my last item is this really stylin' chair that I got at Goodwill for ten dollars!! It's going to need a good scrubbing and one of the legs is broken but it's comfy, low and will add much needed seating to my living room! Hiding there on the right behind the sawhorse is a big wood framed mirror I also snagged at Goodwill. I'm going to paint the frame a nice bright color and hang it in the entryway.

Dreaming of a new quilt.

I miss my puppy. My cute, jumps up and down soooo happy to see me every time I visit him puppy. I think it's going to be about 2 more weeks before we're in the house..... in the meantime, we shopped for him :)
What do you think of his new coat :) ?

Wanna see my bedroom!? This is my favorite room in the house so far :) It is SO cheery!

I'm going to have exposed white wood rods with grommeted curtains and my furniture is cherry... I think it would look just lovely with a new white quilt like this one....
